More info later: The episode DIDN’T air on YTV. This announcement was just a trick from YTV and Nick to get more television viewers. The expected air date will be January the 25th.   48. How do you all know when the new Avatar episode is supposed to air on YTV? ON the site, it just states and air date and time, it shows no synopsis, and says no episode number, which makes me angry to no extent….Why don’t people give us something to look forward to, like an expected date. If they let us down, let us know a day or 2 in advance. I hate being in the dark.

  53. I heard that the episode will not air for 3 months starting from when it was originally supposed to be. They are working on another project and Nick wants to milk the merchandise sold. This is not a confirmed source, however, I would not be surprised.

  89. Erhherm….. I dident say any of this was *factual information* except for the one from the site that hosts Avatar, it may also be cancelled or moved again. Who knows? (appart from the director…hehe). Sorry I posted so much **** but I was putting stuff up as I found it.
    I found a site which also uploads most/all of the episode except you have to look through all there vids, which take maybe 30 secs but so far on every video ive had a loading time of 10-15 seconds and no breaks/buffering. Ive come accross 2 so far that just stop near the end (which made me go mad!).

  90. The writers have been on strike for a little over 2 months now. So it’s understanable that the episodes aren’t coming out on time except one thing, an episode came out during the first week on January (when the strike was still on). It’s rumored that all the episodes are done and are just waiting for the GO to be aired. An online petition just actually might do something. The change in air dates all the time has upset many people. Anybody know where this “online petition” can be done?

  100. Verb101 – The writers’ strike doesn’t affect a show like Avatar. First and foremost: there’s actually a separate, bad guild for animation writers that is not on strike, second: Nickelodeon is a cable network and therefore probably doesn’t use WGA writers (very few cable networks do), and third: traditionally animated shows like Avatar take upwards of 8 months to actually produce start to finish, meaning all the episodes were probably written during season 2 last year.

    That said, there’s a chance Avatar is being constantly delayed as a byproduct of the WGA strike. As the writers’ strike continues network television stations (NBC, CBS, FOX) are going to steadily run out of new scripted programming to air. Since 9/10s of cable networks are owned by the same multi-national conglomerates that own the network TV stations it’s possible that all stations are trying to stretch their content as much as possible, so that once the networks run out they can start showing new cable TV shows.

    Of course, that’s just a theory from a guy who knows no better than the next.
